Direct Buy

DirectBuy is a membership program that allows you to buy almost anything for the home at direct prices. They claim to cut out the middle man retailer and sell to you direct and substantial savings. Many of the satisfied customers have saved the membership fee on their first purchase. They do tell you that they did this when renovating a room in their house and thus spending a large sum of money at one time.

DirectBuy offers you a Free Visitors Pass so you can come and see for yourself what products are available. They claim retails markup products an average of 43.4%.

The best and only way to determine if this is a good value is to look at people who have purchased the memberships and see if they are still happy. Many consumers have said this is a scam without even doing their homework. Please only review and rate if you have purchased the membership.

Direct Buy Member

I was a member of Direct Buy for 3 years from 2004 until now. Cost $3500. There are no savings when you add all of the extra charges, and your membership fee. Products are all damaged, no refunds, and if you complain they just cancel your membership, and you have no recourse. This a scam.

Buyer Beware

Buyer beware, do not accept an invitation to a Direct Buy open house it is nothing but a hard sell and they will not show you pricing on any other products in their catalog unless you purchase a membership which can cost upwards of $5000.00 for the first 3 years of membership with an additional annual membership fee beyond that of $200.00 per year. None of the products you buy will be shipped to your home instead they are shipped to Direct Buy and you are charged for the shipping then have to find a way to get the product home. If a product shows up damaged or the wrong product is shipped to bad (REFUNDS ARE NOT AN OPTION) as you are generally buying close out items that are no longer available in stores. Also if you attend an open house and ask to think about the fees that are involved you will be aked to leave and will never be given the option to return. What kind of company operates in this way, they will also sell you on the idea of buying a franchise and I won't even get into the costs involved with doing that. SCAM BUYER BEWARE.
